After several years in public education, Becky realized she wanted to be able to help students in ways that did not revolve around test scores and grade point averages. Becky’s desire to help ultimately led her to University of Texas at Arlington where she earned a master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on children and families. After interning in private practice and school social work, Becky began working in the inpatient behavioral health setting where she completed the requirements to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Becky employs an eclectic approach with her clients, though is strongly influenced by Dialectical Behavior Therapy and the strengths-based perspective. Central to her practice is Becky’s belief that healing, and growth come from learning to accept what is to make changes. Essentially, Becky sees herself as a mirror encouraging her clients to confront their issues and a teammate assisting her clients to identify their goals and to embrace and harness their innate strength and power to achieve them.
