William Magdalin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy with adults across the lifespan. He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Denver in 2021 and holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Film and Television Production and Psychology from the University of Vermont (2016). This unique educational background, combining creative arts with clinical psychology, enriches his understanding of human narratives and the stories we tell ourselves, informing his holistic approach to mental health treatment.
William’s clinical journey has encompassed diverse treatment settings, working with clients presenting with a wide range of mental health challenges including substance use disorders (SUD), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and major depressive disorder. His practice is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care principles, with specialized expertise in supporting individuals with PTSD and complex trauma. Through his experience in various clinical environments, William has developed a nuanced understanding of how trauma impacts the internal landscape and shapes behavioral patterns across different life stages.
Central to William’s therapeutic philosophy is his passion for helping clients explore and understand their “internal world” along with the complex interplay of thoughts, emotions, memories, and beliefs that contribute to mental health struggles. He believes that by transforming one’s relationship with the self, individuals can experience profound shifts that lead to reduced depression, anxiety, and overall psychological distress. His approach integrates psychodynamic exploration with evidence-based cognitive behavioral interventions, creating a therapeutic space where insight meets practical change.
Currently, William employs an integrative, client-centered approach that honors each individual’s unique narrative while providing structured support for lasting change. He specializes in working with adults navigating complex mental health challenges, offering both depth-oriented psychodynamic work for those seeking to understand root causes and structured CBT interventions for symptom management and skill-building.
