Shanti Hubbard is a compassionate therapist specializing in trauma-informed care with extensive experience supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with double minors in Chemistry and Philosophy from Xavier University of Louisiana, where her research on relationships was published in student journals and featured in “Psychology Applied to Modern Life 11th Edition.”  Her contributions on topics related to relationships were featured in the textbook “Psychology Applied to Modern Life 11th Edition.”  The two publications were titled Does Absence Make the Heart Grow Fonder? Missing Your Partner and Sexual Activity and Unhealthy Intimacy; The Relationship Between Intimacy and Sexual Health.

 

After completing her Master of Science in Behavioral Sciences with a concentration in Counseling Psychology at Cameron University, Shanti discovered her calling working with trauma survivors. She gained specialized training at Marie Detty New Directions in Oklahoma, where she provided comprehensive support to affected individuals and families while serving as an expert witness in court proceedings.

 

In Texas, Shanti expanded her expertise as a Mobile Neurofeedback Clinician at The Fort Bend Women’s Center, delivering both neurofeedback and talk therapy to trauma survivors. Her clients reported significant improvements in trauma symptoms, anxiety, depression, concentration, memory, and sleep disturbances. During this time, she earned a second Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology to better understand the criminal justice system and enhance her client advocacy.

 

Currently, Shanti employs evidence-based practices including Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). She approaches each client through a trauma-informed lens, understanding that behavior is best interpreted within its surrounding context. Her goal is to help clients gain deeper self-understanding while alleviating guilt and shame, ultimately enhancing their quality of life through integrated therapeutic approaches. Through her use of neurofeedback therapy, Shanti aims to enhance the quality of life for her clients.

After moving to Texas, Shanti continued her commitment to helping victims when she joined The Fort Bend Women’s Center as a Mobile Neurofeedback Clinician. In this role, she provided neurofeedback therapy and talk therapy to individuals who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault. Clients who received neurofeedback therapy reported significant symptom relief in areas such as trauma symptoms, anxiety, depression, concentration, memory, and sleep disturbances. While in her position as a Neurofeedback Clinician, Shanti also obtained a second Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology to expand her knowledge of the criminal justice system and better support her clients.

In her current practice, Shanti utilizes up-to-date evidence-based practices of Trauma Informed-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). Her goal is to help clients gain a deeper understanding of their experiences and alleviate feelings of guilt and shame. She approaches every situation with a trauma-informed lens, recognizing that behavior is best understood by first understanding the context surrounding the behavior. Through her use of neurofeedback therapy, Shanti aims to enhance the quality of life for her clients.
